    Recent Achievements

  • Prior to its registration SMS was successful in providing land rights to 70 women at Patamda block for which it was also awarded by the state government.
  • SMS has been engaged in developing the training module and training materials on Panchayati Raj Institution of Jharkhand. In fact, it has been recognized by state government for its valuable contribution in developing the materials and modules.
  • Around 500 dropout children were admitted in the formal schools.
  • Between 1997 - 98 SMS has helped the artisans in formation of artisans’ panchayats in East and West Singhbhum districts.
  • 2001-2002 SMS has been engaged in developing the training module and training materials on Panchayati Raj Institution of Jharkhand.
  • Formation of 1100 S.H.G’s working in 30, blocks aggregating to 11300 women members.
  • Organized about 400000 single women and accessed their needs.
  • 13 Thousand child labour has been identified from child labour survey in East & West Singhbhum.
  • 8000 single women accessing land through lease/ Patta.
  • A circulation letter has been published by the labour department for migrant labour on making labour card, hence the excluded migrant families will get benefits from this card.
  • Priority given to the single women in the selection Sahiya and Anganwadi Sevika by Dept. of Women and Child Development.
  • We have developed a “White Paper” on the status of single women of Jharkhand for which recommendations from May renowned personalities of different fields have come.
  • 30,000 single women are the member of ENSS. This force of single women is raising their voice against discrimination done with the single women in every sphere and for their rights.
  • 6,283 women achieved membership of different decision making bodies at village and panchayat level;
  • 53,064 applications are submitted for the disbursement of benefits under different government schemes out of which 32,462 applications were sanctioned
  • Rs. 9 ,28,27,350 (Nine Crores Twenty-Eight Lakhs Twenty-Seven Thousands Three Hundred and Fifty Rupees) were leveraged through the linkages with different government sponsored schemes.
  • Total SHG’s formed have saved Rs. 53,43,746 and obtained Rs. 44,54,080 as the credit linkage from banks. Thus the total capital worth 97,97,826 accumulated.
  • 7,317 single women accessed homestead land where 1289 owned land under Indira Awas Yojna, 118 women were granted government land, 1801 women procured land through settlement and 4000 women were benefit out of partition in their families.
  • Organized about 400000 single women and accessed their needs and 8000 single women accessed land through lease/ Patta.
  • SMS acts as a member in several national & state level advisory bodies.
  • 1072 Young women and girls developed capacity and trained as an Internet Saathi and were reach out and imparted Digital literacy training in 7,16,292 rural women.
  • Likewise SMS attained due recognition at the following state level joint program planning and advisory bodies such as –
    1. State Livelihood Mission
    2. State Migration and Trafficking Committee
    3. State PCPNDT Committee
  • Shramajivi Mahila Samity has been able to curve a space for itself in its journey of past ten years and reflect its achievements as here under :-
  • In the year 1989-90 prior to its registration SMS was successful in providing land rights to 70 women at Patamda block for which it was also awarded by the state government.
  • Between 1997 - 98 SMS has helped the artisans in formation of artisans’ panchayats in East and West Singhbhum districts.
  • In 10 blocks of East and West Singhbhum districts legal counseling centers has been formed by the help of SMS.
  • 2001-2002 SMS has been engaged in developing the training module and training materials on Panchayati Raj Institution of Jharkhand. In fact, it has been recognized by state government for its valuable contribution in developing the materials and modules.
  • In the farm and non farm sector several techniques were imparted to the youth for their better long term income generation.
  • In 2001-02 around 500 children were admitted in the formal schools.Ú 15 men and women became master trainers on various craft who deliver their training classes at various organizations.
  • Promotion of women leaders through women participation in local self governance. These Women are now ready to take part in the election contest ahead.
  • SMS acts as a member in several national & state level advisory bodies
  • Special concern was given by SMS in the formation of Ekal Nari Sashakti Sanghatan to cater to the innumerable and glaring issue of single women in Jharkhand region.
  • Formation of 250 S.H.G’s working in Sonua, Dumuria, and Patamda blocks aggregating to 2500 women members. Formation of 25 Groups of Bidi Mazdoors in Sonua block, West singhbhum
  • Organised about 10000 single women and accessed their needs.
  • 13 Thousand child labour has been identified from child labour survey in East & West
  • Future direction of the organization

    In the coming future Shramajivi Mahila Samity will expose itself as dynamic organization troubleshooting the financial hindrances of the women & marginalized group such that the last fellow will also be equipped with all social , political, economical and legal facilities to come up as a dignified citizen. SMS plan to work with the issues like Gender, Trafficking, livelihood, governance, Food security, reproductive health & rights, human rights and advocacy extensively. SMS will strive to deliver quality program and activities with right planning and innovative thinking which shall enable poorest of the poor, women and marginalized group to become the first citizen of the Nation. The working areas where we wish to concentrate are East / West Singhbhum, Seraikela and 22 districts of Jharkhand. The working partners are women headed NGOs, community based organization, registered grass root groups amongst the target group. SMS strives to deliver the objectives by approaching the right based work taking into social, political, economical, legal and psychological considerations for development for the target group being poorest women and marginalized group. This orientation of right based work catalyzed with value added work will form dynamic organization and resource organization. Dynamic organization work with planning and innovative thinking with right inspiration shall enable this poorest of the poor women and marginalized group to become the first citizen of the society and propagate this thinking / mindset on a global level.
